Nasri Academy for Gifted Children, a non-profit, licensed, accredited K-8 private school is looking for a part time enthusiastic experienced elementary Science teacher, to join our masterful and collaborative educational team for the 2024-2025 school year. This candidate will create an environment that cultivates learning, questioning, and engages the interest of the students which will facilitate their intellectual, emotional, and social development. The perfect candidate will have to be skillful, creative, implementing and assessing lessons. Some of the duties will include designing lesson plans using hands-on activities and instructional methods that motivate students to want to excel. Experience in teaching elementary level Science

Responsibilities

• Design and follow lesson plans
• Teach and create units which follow the curriculum of the school
• The ability to differentiate as the students’ needs arise
• Organize learning material and resources
• Leadership and preparation for Science Fair
• Maintain an open line of communication with parents and provide appropriate information
• Assess students’ performance and progress to ensure they are mastering the skills on regular basis
• Monitor children’s interactions and nurture cooperation and sharing
• Cooperate with administration staff and fellow faculty members
• Follow and comply with teaching standards, pedagogy, and safety regulations

Requirements

• Proven work experience as a Science Teacher- Minimum 2 years
• Work with Gifted Students a plus
• Experience with differentiating curriculum to meet students’ needs
• Proficient in the use of the computer
• Excellent knowledge of the latest education theories and practices
• Creative and artistic teaching abilities
• Organization skills
• Patience and flexibility
• Strong communication skills
• Keep abreast with the latest pedagogy, trends, and best practices
• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Education and relevant license/certificate
• Great referrals

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $25.00 - $50.00 per hour

Expected hours: 7 per week
